I was involved on the NASA project in 2019 while at ThumbsUp when the license was first introduced. It involved working directly with one of the 3D designers to take the products they had made, and create packaging. This included a complete style guide as well as bespoke dielines.
The fantastic thing about the NASA packaging project was that the brief was really open and the licensor was very happy for me to play around with the style guide to see what I thought worked. There were a couple of iterations before the final design was decided. I had quite a few ideas and they ranged from retro style to more modern and shiny adding lots of foiling. Below are some initial flat artworks.

In the end, we decided it was cleaner to create mainly closed boxes and swing tags. I merged some of the ideas together and created the below packaging. Then the products were added to the FSDU and retail shelving bays to show an idea of what the range could look like all together.
